Looking for a simple way to integrate M-Bus meters with BACnet?
BLC-MBUS-MINI enables the integration of water meters, heat meters, energy meters and other measuring devices compliant with the M-Bus standard into BACnet/IP systems. The gateway can search for and configure meters, perform cyclic data readings and map M-Bus records to standard BACnet objects. Depending on the version, the device supports 10, 20, 30 or 40 meters.

Do I need special software to configure the gateway?
No. BLC-MBUS-MINI is configured using a standard web browser through its built-in web interface.
How many M-Bus meters can I connect?
BLC-MBUS-MINI is available in four versions supporting 10, 20, 30 or 40 M-Bus devices.
Can the gateway automatically discover meters?
Yes. The gateway can search for M-Bus meters using both primary and secondary addressing.
Can each meter use different communication settings?
Yes. Transmission speed, primary or secondary query method and reading interval can be configured individually for each meter.
Can I check the condition of the M-Bus network?
Yes. The gateway can measure the current drawn by connected devices and assess wiring quality based on the waveform of the M-Bus meter response.
Which BACnet objects can be created from meter data?
Meter records can be mapped to BACnet objects including Analog Value, CharacterString Value, Large Analog Value and Positive Integer Value.
Can I transfer the configuration to another device?
Yes. The current configuration can be exported to a file and later restored through the configuration web page.
Can I use configuration software supplied by meter manufacturers?
Yes. BLC-MBUS-MINI provides a virtual COM port using Serial-over-IP communication, allowing third-party meter configuration software to be used remotely.
What should I use if I need to connect more than 40 meters?
For larger installations, the BLC-MBUS-250 gateway is designed to integrate a greater number of devices.
